Entry Level Structural Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering department. Our Structural Engineering team ensures our towers maintain a high level of compliance with industry standards regarding capacity. In this role, you will perform structural analyses of low complexity on existing communication structures, including guyed towers, self-supporting towers, monopoles, and their foundations and mounts. You will collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure structures meet business standards. Responsibilities * Review requests for engineering services, ensuring all work adheres to quality control procedures and generate required reports. * Conduct analyses on tower structures, mounts, and foundations for existing, proposed, and reserved tenant configurations using hand calculations, analysis software, and other accepted methods. * Prepare formal, written reports detailing designs of modifications on projects of low to medium complexity, including tower reinforcement, mount reinforcement, extensions, and foundations. * Review modification drawings on projects of low to medium complexity, resolving discrepancies with Designers. * Examine tower inspections of low to high complexity for all types of towers and prepare engineering documentation recommending necessary remediation. * Maintain accurate system data for sales and customer service reporting, adhering to quality control procedures. * Provide quality, timely, and accurate support for inquiries and problems within defined areas of responsibility. Skills & Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. * 0-1 year of experience in communication design and analysis, construction or field engineering of steel structures, or structural engineering. * Basic knowledge of structural analysis software, tower structures, and design methods. * Experience with basic modeling software. * Strong soft skills, including time management, communication, and a drive to learn. * Engineer in Training or Engineering Intern Certification. * Working knowledge of TIA/EIA-222 code and other relevant specifications. Work Environment * This position is based in our Cary, NC office, with a hybrid work schedule where you are on-site on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. * The role involves 8-hour shifts, with the flexibility to start as late as 9am, totaling 40 hours per week. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
