Summary:

The Information Technology Specialist III/Hybrid Cloud Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments supporting the Indian Health Service's Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS).


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must support current and recommend new connectivity models, with an overall design that provides a resilient, secure infrastructure.
  • Follows regulatory compliance requirements such as NIST and FEDRAMP. Administers cloud-native security policies.
  • Identifies resources needed and can coordinate other engineers to accomplish large complex enterprise scale deployments.
  • Capacity to define procedures, work instructions or other methods for sharing knowledge and achieving consistent results.
  • Coordinating the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Windows and Cloud infrastructure hardware/software which support Health Information systems and applications.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of RPMS systems/applications, networks, and data through the analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive skills designing and implementing cloud connectivity such as private MPLS to cloud, including architecture models, SD-WAN, IPsec, operation, and design.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask among various projects.
  • Has willingness to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop project plans, define goals and budget within the network and telecom space.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; however, an associate degree or a combination of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience configuring networking with Azure or AWS.
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of a Professional level certification from the network vendor. (i.e., Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • Experience supporting and optimizing application delivery networks in public and private cloud environments.
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiry and Credit (NACIC) background investigation.
