Overview

The SBA Portfolio Specialist is responsible for assisting the Portfolio Managers of a developed and extensive Government Guarantee Lending loan portfolio of SBA 7(a) and 504 loans, as well as USDA loans. This position will work directly with Portfolio Managers, and interface with Business Development Officers, Loan Operations, and customers to gather relevant needed information, documents, financial documents to aid Portfolio Managers in their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

    Assist the Portfolio Manager with customer contact on existing SBA loan relationships
  • Assist Portfolio Manager with preparing annual reviews, servicing requests, and site visits when needed
  • Monitor and call on past due borrowers when needed
  • Assist in preparing SBA loan portfolio reporting if required by SBA Management
  • Actively manage loan exceptions for the Bank's SBA/USDA loan portfolio including working to obtain requisite documents from borrowers and guarantors
  • Manage loan documents by preparing, reviewing, and filing as well as maintaining accurate records
  • Data entry into Renasant and SBA/USDA systems, such as Ignite, PCFS Loan Manager and Etran with keen attention to detail
  • Will be involved in occasional community activities
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of commercial loan support. SBA background (1502 reporting, lending assistant, loan operations, packaging or closing) is preferred
  • Ability to gain, maintain and apply a basic SBA SOP knowledge (SOP's 50 10 and 50 57)
  • Proficiency using software to produce work product, including Excel and Word. nCino (Ignite) experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain reasonable pace to complete assignments on time
  • When needed effectively communicate with SBA/USDA personnel, bank legal representatives, officers, and management
  • Client service orientation
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
