Overview

The National Account Director will lead strategy, solicitation, and account management for the intermediary market (third-party agencies, meeting planners) to drive topline revenue. This role is responsible for cultivating strategic relationships with key accounts, positioning the resort as the premier destination for meetings and events, and ensuring revenue targets are achieved across rooms, food & beverage, and ancillary services. The Director serves as the primary liaison between the resort and assigned intermediary partners, ensuring consistent brand representation, long-term relationship development, and delivery of business results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, grow, and manage key intermediary account relationships to generate group and meeting business for the resort and affiliated property.

  • Proactively solicit new business and expand production from existing accounts through account planning, presentations, business reviews, and ongoing relationship development.

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for assigned intermediary accounts, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and service excellence throughout the booking process.

  • Partner with on-property sales, revenue management, and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of contracted business and exceptional client experiences.

  • Negotiate group contracts, balancing revenue maximization with client satisfaction.

  • Develop and maintain annual sales strategies and account plans for assigned intermediary partners, including regular production reviews and growth targets.

  • Represent the resort at industry trade shows, client events, and destination showcases to promote the resort and destination to the intermediary community.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of market trends, competitive activity, and client needs in the intermediary segment to position the resort competitively.

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations tailored to agency decision-makers and clients.

  • Collaborate with marketing and revenue teams to create targeted promotions and account-specific initiatives.

  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of hospitality sales experience, with at least 3 years in group/intermediary sales.

  • Previous resort or luxury hotel sales experience strongly preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of intermediary market (third-party agencies, planners, consortia).

  • Strong negotiation and contract skills, with ability to close high-value group business.

  • Excellent relationship management and consultative sales skills.

  • Effective communication (verbal and written) across multiple audience levels.

  • Proficiency with CRM/sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce, Cvent, Microsoft Office).

  • Ability to analyze account data, identify opportunities, and translate into sales strategies.

  • Highly organized with strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Willingness to travel for account engagement, industry events, and client visits.

  • Team-oriented with ability to collaborate across departments to deliver client success.

  • Demonstrated success managing third-party and intermediary accounts.
