JOB TITLE:

Assistant Professor of Music - Teacher/Artist of Collaborative Piano and Piano.

JOB PURPOSE:

Teacher/Artist of Collaborative Piano and Piano.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach studio piano, recruit and maintain a high-quality piano studio, organize collaborative piano area for the department, coach collaborative ensembles, accompany faculty, guest, and other recitals, participate in outreach activities, and serve as liaison with regional music educators. Possibly teach courses in secondary area of expertise. Assist with the collaborative department both in scheduling and playing. Work cooperatively with colleagues and students. Establish a reputation as an outstanding performer in the region, nationally, and internationally. Assume normal professional duties, such as creative activity, service, and student advising. Contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of the University.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Doctorate in piano performance or collaborative piano required. Applicant must be an outstanding performer with expertise as a collaborative pianist in both vocal and instrumental music. The applicant must have expertise as a piano teacher. Preference will be given to candidates who have successful college teaching experience and who have a proven track record in recruiting students.
