Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. This position will support projects studying the immune response to HIV, including defining how innate immune factors impact HIV infection. Aims of the studies include defining the host genes that restrict HIV infection and their mechanism as well as the role NK cells play in HIV recognition. Lab tasks include standard molecular methods, including PCR, sequencing, cloning, nucleic acid isolation, gel electrophoresis and similar techniques. The position will also require extensive tissue culture work, including studies with HIV, flow cytometry and deep sequencing. Data and samples must be well-organized and precisely tracked. Under the direction and close supervision of the Senior Staff Scientist and with secondary supervision by the Principal Investigator, the applicant will gain practical experience in the following areas:
Coordinating and performing experiments for a research laboratory that focuses on virology and immune responses to viral infections

Research Technician I: The hourly pay range for this position is from $23.33 to $33.21 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Research Technician II: The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.01 to $38.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future.
