The Wisconsin School of Business is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment to join the MBA and Master's admissions and recruitment team. This role plays a key part in recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling a talented and diverse graduate student body across all MBA and Master's programs.

The Assistant Director will:


  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-caliber candidates.

  • Plan and manage key events, including Professional and Executive MBA Inside Look events and the Full-Time MBA admitted student program, On, Wisconsin Weekend.

  • Represent the School to prospective students through events, outreach, and relationship-building.

  • Serve on the admissions committee, reviewing and evaluating applications to ensure strong and diverse cohorts.


The position requires both independent initiative and collaborative teamwork. The ideal candidate will bring:


  • Experience building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Strong project management and event planning skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple programs and priorities effectively.

  • A creative mindset for developing new ideas and improving recruitment practices.


Some evening and weekend events, as well as domestic travel, will be required.

This position requires some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Organization, planning and management of the Full-time MBA admitted student weekend (On, Wisconsin). Including working with external vendors, managing registration of students, organizing catering and room reservations, and partnering with internal stakeholders for event execution.

  • Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
  • Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences
  • Counsels prospective and admitted graduate students on educational planning and career opportunities
  • Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission
  • Reviews, evaluates, and responds to student applications for admission to a graduate program according to established policies and procedures
  • Organization, planning and execution of the Professional and Executive MBA Inside Look (class visit) events.

  • Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution
  • Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement

Compensation:

The starting salary for the position is $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum three years experience in higher education, admissions, marketing, sales, recruitment, event management or related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of specific admissions experience with a college or university

  • Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills

  • Keen attention to detail and precision

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated abilities in project and event management skills

  • Ability to work under deadline pressures while managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven setting

  • High degree of initiative

  • Proven success in working both independently and in teams

  • Provide a high level of customer service while utilizing a strong professional presence

  • Excellent technical skills, such as a familiarity with spreadsheets, databases, and/or recruiting and admissions software

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Master's degree preferred
