Job Summary:
Social Science Research Services (SSRS) serves social science researchers in the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including the Department of Sociology. The central function of SSRS is to provide specialized, high-quality services to advance interdisciplinary social science research at the UW-Madison. SSRS provides primary support to researchers affiliated with the Center for Demography and Ecology (CDE) and Center for Demography of Health and Aging (CDHA). SSRS, in collaboration with Sociology, is seeking an experienced events and communication professional to support the mission of SSRS and its affiliated research centers, along with Sociology. Priorities of this position will be split between planning research-related events, including conferences, seminars, public outreach events, and execution and the dissemination of research findings via newsletters, social media, and web content. The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors of CDE and CDHA, SSRS Director and other SSRS staff, and Sociology staff. This position will help develop and implement comprehensive outreach and communication strategies. The work schedule is partially remote with the expectation to work in office 3 days per week. Colleges of Letters & Science / Social Science Research Services (SSRS) Compensation:The typical starting salary for this position will be between $55,000 - $65,000 for experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
