Coordinate the activities of employees on shift involved in flexographic printing, plate mounting, setup, and operation of presses to ensure meeting quality and production standards. Collaborate with operators and provide technical support to investigate and resolve operational problems that can affect throughput such as correct artwork, plate mounting, press set-up, press operations, & support materials, etc. Serve as back-up to TPL on shift. Schedule: C Shift Pay rate: $25.90/hr Purpose Accountabilities
* Coordinate the activities of personnel involved in flexographic printing, plate mounting, setup, and operation of presses to ensure meeting quality and production standards. Maintains the functioning of the department in the Supervisor's absence including the oversight of staffing and quality standards across Extrusion, Lamination and Slitting. * Promote a safe work environment by observing and enforcing all safety standards and wearing of all personal protective equipment. * Work from production schedules, work orders, special instructions, artwork, color cards, ISO/AIB/Best, Practices procedures, and own knowledge of the operations. Use common hand tools, fixed gauges, viscosity checker, densitometer, spectrophotometer, lifting devices, and electronic information systems as required. * Review prior shift press production, operation reports, and work schedule requirements to determine shift assignments and/or sequencing of jobs. Instruct, coordinate, and participate in activities to increase work flow of plate mounters, operators, and support personnel. Coach operators in quality standards, controls and measurement techniques and check work for compliance. Approve setups and press proofs as required. * Develop best practices, provide information and instruct in proper procedures or techniques for operation of presses and related processes to maintain ISO/AIB conformance compliance. Coordinate with other setup personnel and supervision to standardize department training, set-up procedures, and press make ready processes. * Provide technical support to investigate and resolve operational problems that can affect throughput such as correct artwork, plate mounting, press set-up, press operations, support materials, etc. See that any required information and materials are made available. Advise Supervisor, production control, and other departments of related problems and/or coordinate activities as required or directed. Work with operators to make arrangements as required for proper maintenance of presses and related equipment. Assist operators in identifying triggers and producing RCAs and 5 Why analyses. * Prepare, maintain, and update assigned records and reports on proper forms or electronic information systems. See that time and production information is accurate and properly recorded. Adhere to all prescribed safety regulations, rules and practices and ensure that presses and work areas are properly safeguarded and maintained in a clean and orderly manner. See that artwork, plates, rollers and related press equipment and material, supplies & completed work is handled, moved or stored correctly. * Promote teamwork and collaboration on shift and between shifts. Lead in a positive, solution-focused * Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed. * Communicate direction to shift operating staff on best practices and APS policy adherence. Participate and, at times, lead Focus 5 discussions and other meetings on shift. * Operate press as required. Qualifications
* Demonstrated knowledge of setup and operation of various flexographic presses and related equipment - equivalent to 3 years specialized print trade training. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical and process problems. * Ability to effectively communicate direction and provide accountability when required. * Knowledge of ISO and AIB standards for printing. * Knowledge of extrusion, lamination, and slitting processes preferred. * Lead with positive, teamwork approach. * Computer literacy: able to learn business system. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with SAP and Smart Factory a plus. * Excellent attendance and reliability. Able to work overtime and attend meetings, training etc. outside normal shift. Benefits and Perks
