Flux Resources is seeking Facility Assessors to join one of our clients on the East Coast. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity paying in the $33.65-43.36/hr range. This role is open to anyone in Pennsylvania, Virginia/DC/Maryland area, or Massachusetts. The Facility Assessors are required to travel a lot. Business travel, pier diem, and lodging that is within the guidelines of project travel is reimbursable

How will you contribute to the team:

* Assist in conducting thorough facility condition assessments, including interior and exterior inspections of client buildings. Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and standard practices.

* Document findings through photographs, sketches, and notes, ensuring all data is accurately recorded. Use computer tablets with built-in cameras to document mechanical or electrical equipment and subcomponents encountered during assessments and providing justification for determination of the physical condition.

* Review and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints to understand building layouts, systems, and potential issues. Use blueprint information to guide assessment processes and identify areas of concern.

* Help in drafting preliminary reports based on assessment findings, including identifying necessary repairs, maintenance, or upgrades. Assist in compiling data into structured formats for detailed condition assessment reports.

* Apply basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) to assess their condition and functionality. Identify and report on the operational status and potential defects in these systems.

* Participate in fieldwork which might include climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and working in various weather conditions. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all site visits. Physical ability to inspect large complexes, including mechanical/electrical systems and subcomponents and supporting systems (assessors typically walk up to 5 miles per day).

* Occasionally interact with clients to clarify requirements or provide preliminary feedback on assessments. Represent the company professionally at client sites.

* Engage in continuous learning about new building technologies, materials, and assessment methodologies. Attend training sessions or workshops to enhance skills in facility management and condition assessment.

* Assist senior assessors in managing project timelines, ensuring assessments are completed within deadlines. Help coordinate with other team members as needed.

What will you contribute?

* At least 2 years of related experience

* Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering or related field.

* Knowledge of Building Systems, i.e., Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.

* Strong communication skills, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and comfort using a computer.

* Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure and to adjust to changing priorities.

* Ability to meet hard deadlines.

* Strong process and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and determine the best course of action.

* Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.

* Experience and/or education in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Building Science.
