This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations, including both the technical and registration/scheduling support areas, of the Women's Imaging Center. Oversees technical procedures and workflow to ensure safe and effective patient care. Coordinates the quality control for all equipment and prepares for and participates in MQSA surveys and inspections.I. Major Responsibilities: 1. Supervises the daily functioning of the technical and registration/scheduling support areas of the Woman's Imaging Center. Assesses and delegates caseload to ensure proper coverage and appropriate patient care. 2. Supervises the department registration and scheduling staff to ensure all patients are registered and scheduled accurately and efficiently. Reviews registration and scheduling metrics with the Lead Ambulatory Services Representative (ASR) to ensure services are meeting expected goals. Assists the Lead ASR to ensure clerical staffing levels are maintained and staff are functioning efficiently. 3. Manages the staffing schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels are managed and to ensure staffing is matched accordingly to patient census. Manages time off requests and completed weekly payroll activities in the payroll system. 4. Provides on-going training and education in clinical skills to staff members in conjunction with the department leader. 5. Oversees all departmental operations to ensure quality control testing of equipment is completed and ensures equipment is within regulatory requirements for safe operation. Coordinates service and preventative maintenance on equipment. 6. Assists in developing departmental policies. 7. Ensures all quality assurance records are kept in accordance with MQSA standards and available for review by the Department of Public Health (DPH) and federal inspectors during routine inspections. 8. Ensures all ACR accreditation applications and renewal processes are prepared and submitted in a timely manner. 9. Works within the electronic medical record (EMR) to follow and track mammography patients to ensure follow-up exams and biopsies are complete. 10. Works with the supervising radiologist to ensure the EQUIP mammography guidelines are followed and tracked accordingly. 11. Performs mammography and bone density examinations as needed. Standard Supervisor Level Responsibilities: 1. Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. 2. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. 3. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives. 4. Encourages and supports diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors. 5. Integrates diversity into departmental objectives, such as hiring, promotions, training, vendor selections, etc. 6. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations. 7. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DPH (Department of Public Health) (Department of Public Health), etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. 8. Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures. 9. Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for department. 10. Develops and maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. 11. Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations and requirements. 12. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed. All responsibilities are essential job functions. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist program and 450 hours training in Mammography including 200 patient exams. 2. Valid Massachusetts license in Radiology and Mammography from the Department of Public Health. 3. Primary and advanced registration through the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Preferred: 1. Experience/Skills: Required: 1. Minimum three (3) years of experience as a mammography technologist 2. Minimum three (3) years of progressive supervisory experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience in Mammography with responsibilities for MQSA. 3. Demonstrated ability to provide quality diagnostic services in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to produce optimum results. 4. Demonstrated ability to function in a highly competent and responsible manner. Preferred: 1. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: Constantly: Working indoors Frequently: Sitting, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Twisting, Precise motor skills required, Precise hearing required, Precise vision required. Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling - Less than 10 pounds to over 100 pounds. Often: Bending, Reaching, Grasping, Performing repetitive movements, High level of stress. Carrying - Less than 10 pounds to 50 pounds. Never: Climbing, Balancing, Kneeling, Crawling, Working outdoors, Working in temperature extremes, Working at heights. Carrying - 50 pounds to Over 100 pounds.
