Position Location:

This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site. Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will have the ability to be located remotely. Preference will be given to local candidates not requiring relocation.

Job Purpose / Summary:

The Director, Field Reporting, Deployment & Incentives is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that enhance field force effectiveness and operational excellence. This role focuses on field reporting and dashboard, optimizing field deployment, territory alignment, targeting, call planning, and incentive compensation administration to support commercial goals and improve field engagement. By driving process improvements and cross-functional collaboration, the Director ensures the field is equipped to perform at the highest level. This position reports to Executive Director, Commercial Data & Analytics.

Major Accountabilities

The Director, Field Reporting & Deployment is responsible for driving field force effectiveness through strategic planning and operational execution. This includes leading the development of field force sizing and deployment strategies, managing territory alignments to ensure balanced and efficient coverage, and overseeing targeting and call planning to support prioritized customer engagement. The role ensures the delivery of impactful field reporting and dashboards that enable performance tracking and informed decision-making. It also involves evaluating and refining sales processes, fostering strong field engagement through effective communication and training, and collaborating cross-functionally to align field strategies with broader business objectives. The Director leads change management efforts to support the adoption of new initiatives and contributes to strategic projects that enhance field operations and drive measurable outcomes. Additionally, the Director leads the incentive compensation plan design, implementation, and policy process.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to the following:

  • Field Reporting & Dashboards: Oversee the creation and delivery of reporting tools and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights to support field performance and planning.

  • Field Force Strategy & Deployment: Lead the development and execution of field force sizing and structural strategies to ensure optimal resource deployment and alignment with business objectives.

  • Territory Alignment: Design and manage territory alignment strategies to ensure balanced workloads, geographic efficiency, and effective customer coverage.

  • Targeting & Call Planning: Oversee the development of customer targeting and call planning strategies to support field execution and prioritization.

  • Sales Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance sales processes, including segmentation and incentive program alignment, to drive field effectiveness.

  • Field Engagement & Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for the field, ensuring timely and effective communication, training, and support for new initiatives and operational updates.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with franchise operational leads and commercial stakeholders to align field strategies with broader business goals.

  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to support the rollout and adoption of new field initiatives, incorporating feedback to drive continuous improvement.

  • Strategic Initiatives: Identify and support cross-functional projects that impact field operations, ensuring alignment, communication, and measurable outcomes.

  • Incentive Plan Design, Implementation, and Policy: Lead Incentive Compensation Plan design, working collaboratively with field and market leaders and compensation committee. Manage implementation and quality control while leading offshore team process and policy adherence and updates.

  • Field Goal Setting: Work closely with sales and marketing leaders and offshore teams to set field team National and Sub National targets while ensuring data quality.

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision: Ability to develop and execute high-level strategies for data strategy, aligning project goals with overall business objectives while driving cross-functional collaboration.

  • Project & Portfolio Management Expertise: Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices to ensure seamless execution, risk mitigation, and on-time delivery.

  • Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong ability to professionally engage, influence, and align diverse stakeholders, including executives, marketing, engineering, sales, and supply chain teams, to ensure smooth launch execution.

  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Expertise in streamlining workflows, optimizing resource allocation, and leveraging data-driven decision-making to improve efficiency and scalability of launch processes.

  • Change Management & Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate complex challenges, drive innovation, and adapt to evolving market conditions with interpersonal effectiveness while ensuring teams remain agile and responsive to shifting priorities.

  • Travel Requirements: 10% approximately

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, science, engineering or related discipline required. Preferred advanced degree in a technical field

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in data reporting and analytics within a generics / pharmaceutical company

  • Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., QlikSense, Tableau, Power BI).

  • Deep understanding of field force deployment, territory design, and sales process optimization.

  • Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical sales force target setting, incentive plan compensation design, and implementation.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical data sources, requirements, and uses

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence across functions.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex situations and processes and effectively integrating and synthesizing the data to form a complete cohesive picture

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations, and ability to persuade / influence organization pursuit of recommended path

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines

  • Change management and project management experience

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills

  • Excels at interacting with a diverse group of people, all levels of management, including senior leadership.

We also follow a hybrid work policy that combines a mix of in-person and remote work to allow our employees flexibility.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $176,400 -327,600 USD/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

On September 30, 2021, Sandoz entered into a 5-year Corporate Integrity Agreement. Certain positions will have responsibilities to support the execution and adherence to CIA obligations, CIA-related deliverables, and any relevant audit, monitoring or Independent Review Organization (IRO) remediation.
