Description

Job Title: AFR Export Agent

Job location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Role and responsibilities:

  • Complete coordination between all applicable parties for air export shipments for customers; ensure timely bookings with airlines on behalf of customers.
  • Prepare export documentation in accordance with country requirements, including the preparation of Certificate of Origin, Cargo Manifest, NAFTA Certificate, Airway Bill, and any other documents required by the customer.
  • Ensure compliant filing of AES (Automated Electronic System) export customs documentation.
  • Communicate with customers and internal/external stakeholders regarding shipment status.
  • Responsible for the completion of export documents and coordination with customers, warehouses, airlines, gateway operations, and dispatch for the timely movement of cargo.
  • Monitor and follow up with air carriers and road transportation providers to track shipment milestones.
  • Communicate regularly with customers regarding their shipment status and maintain continuous communication with overseas contacts to meet delivery commitments; follow up with airlines to monitor and track departure and arrival information updates.
  • Responsible for accounting (costs vs. revenue) on air product shipments; audit charges for accuracy prior to sending to accounting for payment.
  • Confirm payment responsibility (depending on terms) and audit credit status if needed.
  • Ensure customer profiles are accurate and updated.
  • Meet or exceed all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Support the Air Product team with pricing.
  • Complete all assigned training within established timelines.

Skills / Requirements:

  • Industry Knowledge (preferred) : Strong understanding of air freight operations, including regulations, documentation, and procedures.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional service to clients.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to handling documentation and ensuring accuracy in shipments.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers, airlines, and internal teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple shipments and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay Range $19,39 - $25,85 + (Based on Experience)
