The Sr Accountant, Revenue Accounting role will be responsible for ensuring revenue from contracts with customers is recognized in compliance with ASC 606 and IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards and supporting closing activities related to revenue recognition, accruals, and revenue reporting. Under the direction of the Senior Manager this role will partner with other areas of finance and the business to ensure complete, accurate and timely recording of transactions.

Primary Duties:
  1. Partner with Commercial Controlling, Commercial Operations, Sales and other departments to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of revenue
  2. Participate in contract review process to ensure proper application of ASC 606/IFRS and company policies
  3. Perform month-end processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  4. Assist in the performance of annual SSP studies, calculation and reporting of royalties, distributor margins, and other fees paid to third parties
  5. Collaborate internally to design, implement, and improve the existing internal control environment
  6. Identify opportunities for greater efficiency and accuracy by automating and streamlining existing revenue processes
  7. Evaluate and research revenue implications of new product offerings, contract types, and pricing models
  8. Coordinate with internal and external auditors in providing source support and other explanations
  9. Assist with annual budget and forecasting activities as assigned
  10. Leverage data warehouse and BI tools to build sustainable and validated reporting and models
  11. Ability to convert data to understandable and explainable format including slide preparation for the business
  12. Support to Clinical Commercial Operations leadership, Accounting, and Regional/Corporate FP&A teams.
  13. Performs ad hoc analysis as needed
  14. Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMerieux
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3 years of relevant experience in public accounting or in an industry revenue accounting role.
    • In lieu of degree, H.S. Diploma/GED and 7 years of experience in public accounting or in an industry revenue accounting role.
  • CPA or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision.
  • SAP or other enterprise management system
  • BI tools (tableau preferred)
  • Advanced excel skills
