The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is seeking a highly skilled Verbal Reasoning Item Writer to support test content development for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), a high-stakes, nationally administered assessment. The Verbal Reasoning Item Writer will support the item writing process. Item writing involves developing reading passages with multiple-choice questions intended to assess the critical reasoning skills of test takers. The ideal independent consultant has teaching experience at an introductory level with undergraduate populations, with a preference for more experience. AIR will contract directly with the Independent Consultant under a consulting purchase order agreement. This is a remote position. The Independent Consultant must be available for coordination with a U.S.-based team. Anticipated Workload: This is a flexible, online contract position that entails around 10 hours per assignment with approximately 4-6 assignments per year, with the potential for additional assignments. Qualifications:
