The Calibration Integration Engineer serves as both a program integrator and a calibration feature owner. The primary focus of this role is program leadership - coordinating timing, resources, release processes, and technical alignment across calibration domains. The successful candidate will bring technical calibration expertise and strong leadership skills - a self-starter who can work independently, keep teams aligned, and drive issues to closure. In addition to coordinating program execution, the engineer will own a defined set of calibration features and maintain the technical depth required to deliver them. Flexibility is critical: while most of the job emphasizes integration and leadership, the engineer must also be able to step back into calibration work when program needs demand to support milestone delivery. This is not a people-management role; the engineer will not directly supervise staff but will support resource planning by rolling up headcount and workload needs for current and future programs. Core Responsibilities: Program Leadership & Integration
- Coordinate calibration program timing, track project classifications, and support workload and headcount rollups for program planning
- Track global issues, lead calibration risk assessments, and ensure timely escalation
- Ensure technical consistency across calibration domains (drivability, emissions, transmission, OBD, torque security)
- Manage R&D rollups (resources, vehicles, testing, RASI tracking) and coordinate road trips, mule builds, and AVL drive preparation
- Prepare and present milestone documentation
- Coordinate the calibration release process - schedule freezes, track dataset readiness, resolve cross-feature conflicts, and support sign-off/homologation documentation
- Interface with cross-functional partners (Quality, TVI, PR, Chief Engineers) and external contractors to ensure program readiness
Calibration Feature Ownership & Flexibility
- Own the development, validation, and release of assigned calibration features (e.g., torque delivery, catalyst light-off, idle, cold start, start/stop, thermal management)
- Analyze datasets to identify issues, resolve gaps, and optimize performance
- Ensure compliance with emissions and OBD regulations (EPA, CARB, global)
- Provide flexibility to support direct calibration work when needed, protecting timing and milestone delivery
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Direct experience owning a calibration feature from development through release
- Strong technical foundation in internal combustion engines, calibration principles, and emissions control
- Proficiency with calibration/data tools such as INCA and ETAS MDA (or equivalent), with hands-on experience developing and analyzing calibration features
- Familiarity with calibration release coordination processes, including freezes, integration, and sign-off support
- Proven ability to work independently, self-start, and drive issues to closure under tight timelines
- Demonstrated skills in program coordination - timing management, resource alignment, and cross-team collaboration
- Excellent organizational, communication, and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience owning multiple calibration features and supporting delivery across different markets or applications
- Experience coordinating integration and release of calibration datasets, including resolving cross-feature interactions
- Proficiency with additional calibration/data tools (ATI Vision, PowerCal, CRETA, CANalyzer, or CANoe)
- Experience applying DOE and calibration optimization methods
- Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink, GT-Power, or similar simulation tools
- Graduate degree or advanced training in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
- Proven success coordinating across large technical teams and presenting status/risks to leadership
