*Job Title:* Financial Care Coordinator - Transplant Department
*Location:* Washington, DC *Schedule:* Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (flexible start time available) *Overview:* Join one of the largest medical entities in the DMV area as a *Financial Care Coordinator* supporting the Transplant Department. This role is a unique blend of *care coordination*, *case management*, and *financial advocacy.* *Key Responsibilities:* * Serve as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and clinical staff. * Manage and follow up on insurance authorizations, including complex cases with multiple procedures. * Support patients on the small bowel transplant waitlist, including out-of-state Medicaid cases. * Advocate for patients by communicating with hospitals, providers, and payers. * Provide financial counseling to patients, explaining insurance decisions and available options. * Maintain accurate documentation and ensure timely follow-ups. * Collaborate with a multidisciplinary transplant team and administrative staff. *Qualifications:* * *Preferred:* 2+ years of experience in insurance authorization and patient interaction. * *Top Skills:*Care coordination / case management * Experience with single case agreements * Insurance and authorization knowledge (training available) * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Empathetic, outgoing, and comfortable advocating for patients. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. *Employee Value Proposition:* * Be part of a leading healthcare institution with extensive growth opportunities. * Access to internal mobility across multiple sites and departments. * Work in a supportive team environment with meaningful patient impact. *Work Environment:* * Office setting with 40 administrative support staff and several receptionists. * Business casual dress code * Convenient access to metro stops and shuttle service; off-site parking available. *We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected* *classification. * *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
