JOB SUMMARY The Systems Administrator role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will apply software updates, troubleshoot, and fix operating systems and application errors and/or network connection problems on the servers. The System Administrator will also assist with helpdesk calls and tickets, along with providing resolutions to problems as need requires.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Operations and Support
- Performs daily monitoring of all server resources.
- Reviews system and applications logs.
- Verifies completion of scheduled backup jobs.
- Verifies integrity of all server hardware.
- Manage user accounts process (adds, changes, inactivation).
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis.
- Configure and add new services as necessary/directed.
- Upgrade and configure system software for all supporting systems within the Information Technology department.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization as required.
- Maintain Data Center environmental and monitoring equipment.
- Application Testing and Installation.
- Research, tests, documents and installs new software and updates.
- Checks program compatibility for running on servers or workstations.
- Installs new or updated programs in test environment and creates documentation for installed product.
- Updates production environment with changes provided.
- Helpdesk.
- Assists with calls as need requires.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Experience:
- 3-5 years Systems Administration in a Corporate Environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technology background including but not limited to Microsoft Server Technologies: DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Printing, Exchange, Backups.
- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or equivalent certification preferred.
