Overall Purpose:

Under direct supervision, to assist a worker of higher classification in the rigging work involved in shipping, receiving, and installing transformers, regulators, breakers, steel structures and other electrical equipment in shop and field.



Job Responsibilities:

Assists in loading and unloading heavy equipment for automotive or railroad shipment, using jacks, rollers, slings, ropes, gin poles, cribbing, winch lines, skids, or similar equipment as required.



Assists in securing equipment for shipment on carrier by blocking, shoring, and guying in position, and in accordance with railroad or highway regulations.



Assists in installing equipment on final location, using jacks, rollers, winches, and other rigging to move equipment, and builds required runways.



Assists in assembling auxiliary parts to equipment, including hanging radiators, expansion tanks, inert air cabinets, brackets, and similar items, using chain blocks, poles, winch lines, rope blocks, jacks, and hand tools.



Assists in handling oil required in filling or emptying equipment, using pumps, drums, and hose.



Drives automotive equipment as directed.



Performs other work as required or as assigned.



Education / Experience Requirements:

Two years of experience in rigging work in shop and field.



Some knowledge of rigging methods.



Must have State of Pennsylvania and Company driver's license.



Must be strong and active physical.
