JOB TITLE: Lift Operations Lead

DIVISION: Mountain Operations

REPORTS TO: Lift Operations Manager, Lift Operations Supervisor

LOCATION: On Mountain

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Seasonal/Hourly

POSITION:

The Lift Operator Lead is responsible for the loading, transport, and unloading of guests of all ages and abilities, maintaining efficiency of lift mazes and lift loading, adherence to lift operations guidelines, assist in training lift operators on a specific lift, providing break/rotations for lift operators, and providing an outstanding experience for our guests. This position will require additional mandatory training sessions.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have 3 seasons experience as a lift operator
  • Understand and comply with instructions given in English
  • Complete Solitude Mountain Resort Lift Operator training
  • Able to spend long hours outside in extreme weather
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to twist, turn, pull, and push up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to verbally give directions, answer questions, and communicate professionally with personnel and guests
  • Must be able to use ramp and maze maintenance tools safely and efficiently
  • Must provide own snow boots, pants and gloves.
  • Lead by example

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use good communication skills and professionalism with staff and guests
  • Will be responsible and accountable for the safe and efficient operation with a minimum of 3 lifts and crew.
  • Knowledgeable of all controls and operational characteristics of each assigned lift and be able to teach these skills to new lift operators
  • Load and unload guests of all ages and abilities
  • Remain alert for guests improperly loading and unloading and other unexpected developments
  • Act appropriately in emergencies
  • Provide exceptional guest service
  • Maintain loading and unloading ramps
  • Ensure chairs are clear of snow and ready for loading
  • Ensure and maintain the proper set up of the lift mazes, perimeter fencing, slow signs, and baffles.
  • Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Ensure lift logs are filled out properly and completely
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and clear of recognizable hazards
  • Participate in training of new staff
  • Oversee the lift operators on a specific lift on a daily basis.
  • Provide positive feedback and coaching when needed in a timely and professional manner
  • Use the proper chain of command when communicating with other departments
  • Use good leadership skills when working with staff
