Position Summary The SRE Origination Associate will be responsible for support and offsetting of workload created by the SRE Originator(s) generation of new lending opportunities. This position reports to a SRE Originator, but directly supports the general lending processes of Originator(s) including, but not limited to, LV data entry, preparing initial underwriting/screeners, deal team/approval memorandum in order to allow Originator(s) and/or Division Executive to focus primarily on business development, relationship management and consistency in generating opportunities that align with the division and Bank strategy. In addition, this position will be a supplemental point of contact for clients, internal Bank parties and external Bank parties associated with their respective lending opportunities within the region. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic focus on developing an understanding and ability to perform screening and underwriting of large, complex real estate lending opportunities. Supports Originator negotiation of terms under which complex commercial real estate credit(s) will be extended including cost, risk and profitability determining the method, schedule and collateral requirements. Prepares memorandum and facilitates the underwriting of new transactions and/or renewals (as applicable). Will support presentation of recommendations by Originators to Division Executive and/or other SRE leaders when required exhibiting a deep understanding of credit(s) presented. Provides support to ensure adherence to credit policy, guidelines and regulatory requirements in evaluation and/or structuring of credit opportunities. Participates in evaluating risk rating and makes revision recommendations. Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Well-developed interpersonal skills are required. Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence, policy requirements and/or legal documentation. Ability to learn to read, analyze and interpret financial report and/or legal documents. Experience in writing/preparing complex reports and memos. Experience in presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees in the organization.
Education and/or Experience
BS/BA Degree in applicable field of study (MBA or advanced degree in applicable field of study preferred); and Level 1: 2 years' experience in commercial real estate lending or investing, specifically in an underwriting and/or asset management capacity. Level 2: 5+ years' experience in commercial real estate lending or investing, specifically in an underwriting and/or asset management capacity.
