Position Overview:
At the Space Dynamics Laboratory, we take pride in and highly value our student employees. We are seeking applicants for an Engineering Assistant position within our C4ISR Systems division.


We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated undergraduate student to work alongside our dedicated and talented team of Engineers. Applicants with more than one year of school remaining are preferred. Our students are an integral part of the systems team and support system design, delivery, and sustainment.

The selected candidate(s) must be able to work individually and as part of a team. The candidate(s) will need to learn and grow to own all aspects of your assigned responsibilities alongside your mentor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documents system configuration changes
  • Researches new technologies and solutions to meet customer needs
Required Qualification:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance
  • Must be currently enrolled at Utah State University majoring in a related field (i.e., electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science)
  • Must have at least one year of school remaining
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during school semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer
  • Must be able to work effectively, both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be consistently detail-oriented and organized
  • Applicants should have familiarity in one or more of the following areas: Network design and protocols, software and hardware troubleshooting, IT systems, programming/scripting in Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in creating detailed documentation and reports
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira
  • Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server, Linux/Unix, and virtualization platforms
  • Willingness and desire to learn about and use a wide array of technologies, system engineering techniques, and complex systems
