Senior Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
Kearfott GND is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical expertise to support the daily maintenance operations at our facility. Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, this role is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and uptime of critical manufacturing equipment and building systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Report directly to the Facility Manager and coordinate daily tasks in alignment with departmental priorities.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of equipment including CNC machinery, HVAC systems, air compressors, and facility infrastructure.
* Diagnose and repair electrical components, including motors, VFDs, relays, lighting systems, control panels, and power distribution systems.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues involving but not limited to pumps, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints.
* Work safely with voltages up to 480V three-phase; adhere to all electrical safety protocols.
* Support continuous improvement projects and new equipment installations in collaboration with the engineering and production teams.
* Maintain detailed service records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
* Source repair parts and provide list to Facility Manager for ordering purposes.
* Participate in safety inspections, audits, and compliance activities under the direction of the Facility Manager.
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED.
* Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance with a strong focus on electrical systems.
* Proficient in troubleshooting 3-phase power, motor controls, and industrial electrical circuits.
* Experience with PLCs (Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
* Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machine repair and fabrication
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Basic mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, and fabrication.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
* Familiarity with safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
* Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
* Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
* OSHA 10/30 certification or NFPA 70E electrical safety training.
* Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
* Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and ESD protection.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New Jersey is $33.00 - $45.00 an hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, and internal consistency.
