Bilingual Spanish & English Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC)I -Seeking CRC to join the Disparities Research Unit, aimed at focusing on improving mentalhealth and healthcare disparities. The individual hired will participate in various community-engaged grants and other quantitative and qualitative research projects. The CRC will be primarily working in an NIH-funded study examining the biological (epigenetic, neuroendocrine) mechanisms linking childhood adversities and alcohol and drug use among Latino youth and a mixed methods study aimed at improving opioid use outcomes among Latino adults.

Primary work duties and responsibilities:

  • Project management: track the progress of different projects, follow up with team members on pending tasks, take notes during meetings, assist PI with meeting scheduling.
  • Recruit, screen, and interview potential participants from clinical and community-based settings; document study progress, send reminders to participants
  • Conduct qualitative interviews or focus groups in Spanish and English, transcribe audio recordings, qualitative coding and analysis with the support of the PI
  • Assist the PI and biostatistician in creating and proofing data tables and graphs
  • Writing up literaturereviews on key topics for publications and grant proposal preparation
  • Ensure compliance with federal and IRB regulations
  • Support with IRB submission and amendments
  • Support with Data Use Agreements
  • Translate materials into Spanish or English


Proficient Spanish-speaking is required for this position. The CRC should also be familiar with using administrative software, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software, such as SPSS or R. Prior experience with qualitative research is preferred, but not required. The ideal CRC would also be:

  • Be well-organized, self-motivated, and attentive to detail
  • Personable and interested in engaging with research participants
  • Work well in collaborative environments and with team members across a wide range of disciplines and experience.
  • Ability to work well with technology and willingness to work with new technology.
  • Multi-task, problem-solve, and manage time/work-load with minimal supervision
  • Access to a car is preferred for visits with community partners.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. Coursework in psychology, sociology, neuroscience, public or community health, child development, or related disciplines is preferred.
