The Principal Chemist will lead and oversee advanced research and development projects within the company. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced chemist who can drive innovation, ensure quality, and provide strategic direction to the team. The Principal Chemist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, improve existing ones, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage complex research and development projects from conception to completion.

  • Design and conduct experiments to develop new products and improve existing formulations.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior chemists and other team members.

  • Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality control, and marketing, to drive innovation and product development.

  • Identify and solve complex problems that arise during the research and development process.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in chemistry and related fields to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports and documentation of research findings and project progress.

  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety.

  • Contribute to the strategic vision of the company by identifying emerging trends and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry or related and 5 years of experience or MS in Chemistry or related and 3 years of experience or PhD.

  • Experience in research and development, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proven track record of leading and managing complex research projects.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation.

  • Knowledge of green chemistry principles and sustainable practices.

  • Experience in patent writing and intellectual property management.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $83,600.00 - $125,400.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
