Director, Insurance Discover Technical Operations

Impact you will make


As Director of Technical Operations, you will oversee the EDI Operations, Application Configuration, and Found Coverage Reporting functions within our Insurance Discover division. Your responsibilities will include optimizing processes for Proof-of-Concept Trials, managing new client onboarding, and consistently seeking ways to enhance performance for our steady-state clients. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with leaders in product, development, and sales to drive strategic growth initiatives, prepare for new product launches, and coordinate monthly release planning. You will be a key contributor to product QA, application configurations, EDI, and reporting operations, providing system-wide monitoring and analytics for a diverse customer base. This position demands strong technical leadership, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to mentor and develop team members. Additionally, it requires a business-oriented approach to maintain system performance and identify new opportunities for growth within our EDI and reporting frameworks.



What you will do



  • Guide the department's strategic direction by introducing new technologies such as RPA, AI, and PowerBI to automate processes, enhance productivity, and improve quality.
  • Develop team members through cross-training, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Represent requirements to product teams for new launches, including Active Insurance Discover and Client Dashboards.
  • Oversee workload and administrative tasks for a dynamic team, fostering continuous improvement in processes, technology, and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize support backlog management to improve throughput and predict turnaround times.
  • Analyze payer performance, manage backlog, and coordinate with FinThrive's Insurance Clearinghouse to resolve issues accurately.
  • Ensure timely delivery of Proof of Concept (POC) projects, onboarding requests, application configurations, KPI monitoring, and report builds.
  • Manage staffing, recruitment, scheduling, and evaluation, tracking performance KPIs including payer backlog and hit/rejection rates.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks to team success.
  • Adopt a player-coach approach to mentoring colleagues and promoting collaboration across teams.
  • Continuously review and optimize processes for consistent improvement.
  • Build and implement a resource capacity model.
  • Direct technical staff to solve problems efficiently and drive initiatives forward.
  • Present project outcomes to upper management and maintain business performance dashboards.






What you will bring



  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with technical teams
  • Strong SQL Knowledge
  • Insurance eligibility and EDI experience (EDI 270/271)
  • Strong Experience Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management and healthcare payer reimbursement
  • Experience managing in a remote environment.
  • Highly analytical, data-driven, and process oriented.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members
  • Travel required: Minimal (a couple of times a year)
