Position Summary

The Social Media Manager leads the planning, execution, and measurement of Busey's social media strategies to strengthen our corporate reputation, amplify brand awareness, and engage meaningfully with audiences across our footprint. This individual partners closely with Marketing leadership to ensure consistent brand storytelling, timely communication, and proactive reputation management while delivering service excellence to our 4 Pillars. Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Busey's enterprise-wide social media strategy across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and emerging channels.
  • Oversee daily publishing, content calendars, community management, and engagement across all official channels.
  • Create compelling, brand-aligned content (visual, video, written) that drives awareness, affinity, and audience growth.
  • Monitor conversations, trends, and issues in real time, responding to audiences and escalating concerns when appropriate.
  • Partner with Marketing, Communications, HR, and Community Relations to highlight corporate initiatives, campaigns, and associate engagement programs.
  • Manage paid social campaigns, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with broader marketing strategies.
  • Establish and report on social media KPIs, leveraging analytics to measure performance, optimize content, and inform leadership reporting.
  • Maintain and enforce brand, compliance, and regulatory standards in all social communications.
  • Provide ongoing education and guidance to internal stakeholders on social media best practices.
  • Support corporate reputation management through monitoring, reporting, and issue escalation.
  • Lead special projects and other initiatives as assigned.
  • Manage social media activity during off-hours, including monitoring engagement and being on-call to respond to urgent issues as needed.
Education & Experience

Education, Experience & Skills Required

Knowledge of:

  • Social media platforms, publishing tools, and analytics systems
  • Strong oral and written communication, with a focus on storytelling and audience engagement
  • Marketing, advertising, public relations, and digital media principles
  • Paid social campaign management and measurement

Ability to:

  • Balance creative execution with regulatory and brand compliance requirements
  • Manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and meet deadlines
  • Analyze and interpret social media data to provide actionable insights
  • Lead projects with independence while collaborating effectively across teams

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • 3-5 years of social media or digital marketing experience (financial services experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, HubSpot, etc.)

Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $61,000 - $82,000/year)
