ABOUT THE JOB

The AGRIntelligence Field Service Technician works under the AGRIntelligence Specialist or Branch Manager to perform AGRIntelligence related services. Responsibilities include soil sampling, EC data collection, yield monitoring setup and install and maintaining field monitoring systems throughout an assigned territory. This position also provides technical assistance and customer service for AGRIntelligence and other related information management services (i.e. precision agriculture). The AGRIntelligence Field Service Technician specializes in knowing the different equipment and sensors offered for digital farming/information management.

This position is part of Helena's trademarked AGRIntelligence program. This business was created to help guide growers' business decisions and help them identify potential problems in the field before they take root. This group focuses exclusively on creating new and innovative technologies to boost yields and leave a lasting impact on farms for generations to come.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE




  • Collects AGRIntelligence related farm/field crop data across a designated service area.
  • Conducts AGRIntelligence field service work such as soil sampling, tissue sampling, Electrical Conductivity (EC) mapping, setting field boundaries, etc.
  • Maintains and installs soil moisture monitoring devices throughout assigned area as assigned by the Branch Manager or AGRIntelligence Product Manager.
  • Ensures that all data collected through the functions of the job are safely and securely transferred to the central processing center for timely processing.
  • Assists with the evaluation of new digital farming and information management services and other technologies.
  • Visits each site on a regular basis in assigned territory to maintain and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Ensures that work and follow-up are completed on all the AGRIntelligence offerings that Helena has sold.
  • Provides technical training and support to the Helena team and customers who are utilizing AGRIntelligence branded products/services, AGRIntelligence 360 or other related products/services.
  • Assists and supports the installation of precision agriculture equipment such as VR hardware, yield monitors, telemetry hardware/software, computers and software at the locations, in the farmers' fields and in application equipment.
  • Keeps an accurate service log of all locations serviced.
  • Required to drive a company vehicle.
  • Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by your leader.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of agricultural related field work experience is required.



SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS




  • Ability to identify different crop types, soil types and cultivation practices.
  • Basic understanding of irrigation types.
  • Ability to operate farm equipment such as UTV/ATV and pull equipment trailers.
  • General understanding of geography, GIS & GPS systems and other agronomy related software.
  • Ability to travel by various means up to 30-35% is required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English is required.
  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable asset at Helena.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required to drive a company vehicle.



Successful completion of a drug test and background check is required for all positions at Helena.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB

The work environment for this position will be in an office setting and outdoors in all types of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. When working outdoors and possibly around moving equipment/mechanical parts, you may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations and a risk of electrical shock.

This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand sit, stand (8 hours a day or more), lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling (up to and including 50lbs or more), reaching overhead (up to and including 25lbs), climbing, gripping, grasping and twisting using hands and wrists, bending and stooping for long periods of time, working below knee levels for short periods of time and working above shoulder level for short periods.
