Days: Mon-Fri

Under the direction of the Shift Leader and Production Supervisor/Manager, the Production /Maintenance Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of equipment which blends/mixes/produces/packages/transports the liquid or dry chemicals that comprise our customer products. The Maintenance operator portion is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant and assumes responsibility for maintaining the physical assets of the property. This position will be responsible for a wide variety of general building maintenance, maintaining site services and manufacturing equipment repairs and services. Every employee must ensures safety is their #1 priority; they produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible costs while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with Avient Corporation policies and procedures.


  • Sets up and starts all machines, checking all controls for adherence to mixing or packaging procedures.
  • Weighs ingredients to meet recipe specification and inserts into machinery
  • Monitors production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
  • Troubleshoots equipment and processing issues
  • Operates machinery to mix, discharge or handle materials according to operating procedure.
  • Examines materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards
  • Take an active role in protecting the communities environment by following all rules and guidelines and communicating any environmental hazards to the correct parties
  • Support the vison, mission, and guiding principles of both the company and the facility
  • Install new or troubleshoot mechanical devices in operation. Dismantle and examine devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjust, repair and or replace defective parts as necessary
  • Troubleshoots electrical controls including PLC's, motors and variable speed drives systems. Ability to work on power systems 480VAC and below
  • Complete all assigned maintenance work to the established standards in a timely and effective manner with minimum guidance or intervention
  • Complete all individually assigned maintenance responsibilities to the established standard in a timely and effective manner with minimum guidance or intervention
  • Take an active role in reliability by enforcing the established work order submittal process and verifying that equipment records are submitted accurately
  • Fully understand what is expected in regards to the Computerized Maintenance Management System, Limble, and correctly use the Limble system to the full capacity as clearly defined by the Limble standards and procedures
  • Installs new or repair/modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
  • Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed
  • Refers issues/problems to lead/supervisor for disposition
  • Performs all required machine cleaning
  • Completes and maintains all required computer inputs
  • Responsible for data integrity
  • Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
  • Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards
  • Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company
  • Demonstrates & meets qualification on blending, packaging, weighing operations & fork lift.
  • Demonstrates team work in all phases of operation.
  • Follows all rules, laws and procedures related to HS&E, ISO and other regulations
  • Other projects/duties as assigned or needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or training in manufacturing or maintenance preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate and troubleshoot various types of equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair techniques, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
  • Willingness to undergo training and stay updated with industry advancements and best practices.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require standing, lifting, and working in various positions.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing production demands.
