Job Summary


The Neuroendovascular Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) plays a key role in the delivery of advanced cerebrovascular and neurointerventional care at UCSF Health. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team that includes neurointerventional surgeons, neurologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and technologists, the PA supports all phases of patient care from consultation to intervention and post-procedure management.

The PA will perform comprehensive patient assessments, assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, and coordinate peri-procedural care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include obtaining histories and physicals, developing treatment plans, performing approved procedures, interpreting imaging and lab results, and ensuring continuity of care through follow-up visits and patient education. The PA will also support emergency stroke response, contributing to timely triage and intervention. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $78.62 - $105.82 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as Physician Assistant
  • Demonstration of clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in specialty area
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management skill.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Team-oriented
  • Basic computer skills

License/Certification


  • Must hold an active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
  • California driver's license (CDL) if required for position
  • Must hold current national board certification (NCCPA) by first day of work and maintain
  • Must hold an active DEA registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 to a California address
  • Must have completed an AAPA recognized graduate master's degree program as a physician assistant
  • Must have submitted enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day
  • Must hold current AHA BLS as minimum requirement: ACLS
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
