Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Strategic Technical Leadership
- Technical Vision & Strategy: Assist the EVP and BU Senior Directors in developing long-term technical direction and strategic capabilities to deliver market-leading solutions.
- Capability Development: Lead efforts to identify and prioritize IRAD projects, CFA initiatives, and employee training investments, ensuring that the division is positioned to meet future technical challenges.
- Division Improvements: Participate in corrective action response to identified Division service, solution, or production technical quality issues
- Strategic Planning: Assist the VP of Engineering in the annual capabilities and customer/market needs assessments - an integral part of strategic planning
Program & Project Support
- Technical Solutions: Serve as a technical lead for key projects, providing ad-hoc support to resolve challenging technical issues and helping teams deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
- Division Collaboration: Regularly interface with the VP of Engineering, other Division Chief Engineers, Technical Fellows, and VPs of Strategic Development to facilitate collaboration across the organization.
- Intra AMD Collaboration: Regularly interface with BU and Program Chief Engineers to ensure communication on technical issues and direction, solicit support from Division technical leadership for participation in key technical leadership opportunities.
- Customer Support: Assist BU Leads and project managers in cross-selling MTSI's capabilities to existing customers, leveraging technical strengths in proposals for re-competes and new business.
Mentorship & Career Development
- Mentoring Technical Leaders: Provide mentorship to technical leaders within the division to prepare them for future leadership roles.
- Communities of Practice: Participate in Communities of Practice (CoPs) to share best practices and improve the division's technical capabilities.
Proposal Leadership
- Technical Proposal Support: Serve on color review teams and provide technical leadership for proposals, ensuring that MTSI's differentiated capabilities are highlighted.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven senior level engineer with experience leading large-scale technical projects, teams, and applying specialized engineering and analytical principles to efficiently solve complex technical problems
- Broad technical knowledge and expertise with the ability to understand and clearly communicate the value of diverse company differentiated capabilities to Division customers
- Consistently recognized by multiple internal and external customers as a top technical performer who sets the technical standard for engineering excellence
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with technical leadership across the entire company to create effective/executable Division IRAD, CFA, CoP strategies, plans, and budgets
- Effective teacher and coach with a passion for developing engineering talent and preparing them for career advancement
- Experienced and skilled technical volume proposal writer and reviewer
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or a hard science.Desired: Masters degree
- At least 15 years of experience in engineering and engineering leadership positions
