Job Description

We are currently hiring a full-time, Category Manager of National Accounts. The ideal candidate must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport*.

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager-National Accounts to lead category growth initiatives and drive actionable insights across our retail and distributor partners. This role requires a deep understanding of the beer category, shopper behavior, and category management principles. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in data analysis, collaboration, communication, and will serve as a trusted consultant to our retail partners.

*A Remote position at Boston Beer requires that the coworker reside in the Continental United States. Remote coworkers may be asked to be onsite throughout the year by their manager, Executive Leadership or expected to travel to meet the in-market needs of the business.

What You'll Brew:

Category Strategy & Execution:



  • Develop and execute category strategies using 4P tactics
  • Make pricing and promotional recommendations based on data-driven insights.
  • Serve as the retailer's category consultant, influencing assortment, shelving, and promotional decisions.


Data Analysis & Insights:



  • Manipulate and analyze data from Circana, Numerator, and other sources to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Validate account-level data and present findings in a clear, compelling format.
  • Sell insights and ideas internally and externally to drive category growth.
  • Maintain a neutral, retailer-benefit-focused POV-across the Beer & Beyond Category
  • Monthly Market visits to work with local NAM team to identify opportunities and recommendations to present to Retailers.
  • Present Insights and Recommendations in a Clear, Concise and Engaging manner.


Collaboration & Influence:



  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners including distributors and retailers.
  • Drive action internally by aligning stakeholders around category initiatives.
  • Influence for impact by communicating effectively and navigating complexity.
  • Conduct monthly market visits with the local NAM team to identify opportunities and develop retailer-facing recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively and navigate complexity to influence decisions.
  • Visit retailer headquarters and market locations ~ 25% travel


What Ingredients You'll Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Shopper Insights, or related roles.
  • Proven success in influencing retail decisions and driving category growth.
  • Proficient in Blue Yonder (JDA software), IRI/Circana data, Excel (including Power Pivot), PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience with SKU rationalization and space planning tools.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills.


Level: 5

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $90,900 and $143,900. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
