Position Summary

The Patient Access Coordinator role is a clerical position involving multiple tasks and functions to facilitate the flow of patient information across the continuum of care.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assists with obtaining accurate patient demographics upon admission/registration
  • Assist with obtaining required income documentation and forms for patients who qualify for Charity/Indigent Care.
  • Makes necessary phone calls and generates letters to patients and/or family members for any self pay balances.
  • Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining accounts receivable and assists in reviewing/selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies.
  • Secures patient valuables in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

  • Schedule: Varies - (Weekends Friday - Sunday): Friday Evening Hours & Saturday/Sunday Day Shift Hours
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in a health care/insurance setting with computer knowledge and data entry skills. Spanish speaking skills preferred.
  • Ability to deal with diverse and stress related situations in a calm manner.
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must have good organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities.
  • Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Training required (Can be obtained upon hire)
  • Current CPR Certification requoired (Can be obtained upon hire)
