Qualifications

Position Summary

Business Development drives financial performance through profitable revenue growth, goal attainment and exceptional customer service. All employees have a role in Business Development and are responsible for identifying potential opportunities to cross sell all Bank products and/or services to both new and existing clients. Employees will continually prospect, both within and outside of the Bank, to create new lead streams for any and all of the Bank's business lines.

The Community Outreach Manager is responsible for leading USB community outreach program to include prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales lead to support Community Outreach along with the assistance of the Community Liaison. The Community Outreach Manager will develop and leverage community ties to educate prospects and customers on various topics, including pathways to homeownership and bank products and services, and Financial Empowerment at large. External customers would include, but not be limited to, community-based groups/non-profits, charitable organizations, and government agencies. The Community Liaison would advise Senior Management of emerging Community Reinvestment Act ("CRA") trends to ensure objectives are met.

Responsibilities



  • Must maintain a thorough understanding of Ulster Savings Bank's products and services.
  • Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Represent USB in the community at sponsored events.
  • Foster community outreach activities in an assigned market area comprising all or a portion of one or more market areas
  • Work with Government Agencies to identify their needs and nurture their interest in the company's products and services.
  • Establish, foster, and maintain network of strong relationships with community based, charitable, and non-profit organizations throughout bank footprint
  • Identify and refer prospects/clients to bank partners for additional products and services as appropriate
  • Find learning needs for Business and Personal customers.
  • Participate in non-profit community events and activities, educate prospects, clients, and members on Bank products and services
  • Conduct market research to identify potential leads.
  • Community Involvement - board participation and networking to expand contacts.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with peers and business partners.
  • Manage time appropriately each day; follow up with customers and contacts; meet deadlines consistently.
  • Build an effective network of internal and external relationships, such as community or industry relationships, to actively acquire new clients and/or expand existing clients and enhance client experience.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management.



Education



  • High School / GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.


Experience



  • 3-5 years of sales and service experience.
