About Heinz College Carnegie Mellon University's Block Center for Technology and Society is also housed at Heinz College. The Block Center is dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the societal consequences of technological change as well as innovative policy interventions that ensure the benefits of technological change are shared across society. Qualifications Applicants should possess an outstanding research record in a relevant field of empirical microeconomics along with excellent teaching skills and a desire to work in an interdisciplinary environment. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related field, completed in recent years and no later than August 1, 2026.
