Position Summary Trideum Corporation has an opening for a Data Scientist supporting the development of next-generation tools for missile defense and space systems. We are seeking candidates with recent and Data Science experience who love to manipulate data and who are passionate about unlocking the value of complex data to improve quality, efficiency, and insights for system test and evaluation. This position involves a wide range of data and analytic tasks across the data lifecycle from test planning through evaluation, blending the disciplines of Data Science, Computer Science, and Software Engineering. The selected candidate will work at our office in Huntsville, AL. This key role will apply Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) techniques to extract insights, drive informed decision-making, and improve operational efficiency for our customers. You will work at the intersection of national security, cutting-edge data analytics, and intelligent automation. This position supports efforts at the intersection of national security, advanced data analytics, and intelligent automation. Success in this role requires strong programming skills, a passion for solving complex problems, and the ability to communicate technical topics to diverse audiences. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to align technical solutions with customer and corporate objectives. What You'll Do Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement end-to-end data workflows, including data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and storage, to support analysis of structured and unstructured datasets related to missile defense and space systems.
- Develop new Artificial Intelligence (AI) software applications and/or extend existing applications.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative data science activities to improve the collection, processing, analysis, and visualization of data to improve test and evaluation over the program lifecycle.
- Support the development and implementation of big data analysis tools and database schemas.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
- Identify stakeholder, customer, and user needs to design new systems and/or improve existing systems.
- Coordinate with program management personnel to prioritize programmatic and technical objectives.
- Duties may include supporting the development of technical artifacts, as well as the development of thought-leading white papers, presentations, journal articles, and conference papers.
- Overnight travel on an as-needed basis, approximately 10%.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.).
- Must have at least 2 years of hands-on data science experience.
- Must possess a strong data science, data engineering, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence background.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate results from deeply technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Must possess a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- US citizenship and an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI is required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance is preferred
- Master's Degree from an accredited school in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, etc.) with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with leading data science projects from conception to production.
- Adept at working with large datasets to find opportunities for products and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action.
- Substantial experience using a variety of data analysis methods and tools, using/creating algorithms, and implementing models.
- Specific experience working with large language models (LLMs) is a plus.
- Familiarity working with missile defense systems or similar systems.
- Experience in software development environments utilizing Agile methodology.
- Experience in the defense sector and/or aviation, space, or missile communities.
- Experience supporting DoD or Army Test and Evaluation communities.
