Ice Hockey Club Coach, Part-Time

The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University's traditional campus is looking for a part-time Ice Hockey Club Coach. You will assist the Head Coach in instructing the club according to the skill level of the club members in order to develop and improve skills ranging from beginner to advanced. You will report to the Campus Recreation Administrator.

What you'll do:

• Assist in coaching the club according to the SNHU rules and all applicable associations as set forth by the Sports Club Handbook
• Understand all emergency and safety procedures on equipment, rental and travel management observing the Sports Club Handbook
• Attend and conduct all practices and games while remaining in consideration of guidelines in the Sports Club Handbook
• Support and give us guidance in recruiting new members to participate and join the club
• Arrive on time and assist in organizing practice sessions
• Be present for all mandatory training sessions as instructed by the University and Campus Recreation Department
• Instruct all participants on proper technique and ways to improve in the given sport
• Chaperone for all travel games and must act observing all travel guidelines as set forth by the Office of Student Involvement
• May be required to drive transport students in SNHU fleet vehicles

What we're looking for:

• High School diploma and 1 year of coaching and team management experience at the high school or college level
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (Willing to train if current certification is not held)
• USA Hockey Coaching certification (Can obtain while working in role and cost is covered by the recreation department if not held)
• Valid driver's license and ability to be approved as a SNHU authorized driver.

Work Hours:

• Will depend on length of season. Week nights and weekends will be needed.
