Job Summary
The UT Dallas Office of Institutional Compliance is currently hiring for a Youth Protection Program ("YPP") Compliance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Compliance Support and Youth Protection Program Official, the YPP Compliance Manager will manage the daily responsibilities associated with the development, implementation, and operation of UTD's Youth Protection Program.

Position Information:


  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Salary Grade: 14
  • Anticipated Salary Range: $63,500 to $75,000 depending on qualifications.
  • Successful candidates must meet the minimum requirements for education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of compliance or program management experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Competencies (required knowledge, skills, and abilities):


  • Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex data and information, identify patterns and trends, make data-driven decisions, and develop appropriate solutions; and ability to analyze incidents, identify risks, and recommend appropriate actions that align with organizational objectives.

  • Communication and Interpersonal: Ability to communicate effectively and considerately in an environment with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, administrators, third parties, and external agencies; and foster collegiality, build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

  • Organization and Planning: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize, plan, and schedule tasks effectively, ask for assistance when needed, follow procedures, ensure accuracy in documentation and data, correct own errors, and produce consistent and timely professional work.

  • Policy Development: Ability to develop, revise, and implement institutional policies and procedures.

  • Position Specific: Ability to lead a team of professionals, manage conflict, and create a positive and inclusive work environment; demonstrated proficiency with interpreting, applying, and monitoring federal and state regulations and organizational policies; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and ability to receive feedback and adapt in the pursuit of professional growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of general higher education policy and practices as well as the ability to navigate complex institutional structures and processes.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Adobe, Articulate, HireRight, Ideal-Logic, and KnowBe4.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement educational and training programs with effective presentation and facilitation skills and ability to adapt those skills to a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge or experience working with youth protection programs.
  • Experience managing, coordinating, and/or supporting a compliance functional area or program.
  • People management experience, or comparable experience demonstrating the capacity for knowledge and skill for people management.

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The YPP Compliance Manager will be responsible for providing hands-on administration of the Youth Protection Program. This role provides training and guidance to the campus community and serves as the primary point of contact for youth protection matters.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight for assigned programs, management and guidance to direct reports, and collaboration with departmental colleagues and university partners.
  • Manage daily and programmatic operations for compliance administration of university-sanctioned youth programs.
  • Develop and implement procedures and training programs to promote safety and security for minors participating in youth programs and help ensure that program activities comply with university policies and regulatory requirements applicable to the protection of minors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for reporting and managing incidents related to the safety and protection of minors.
  • Monitor best practices related to Youth Protection Programs and other assigned programs; initiate reviews and assessments; analyze trends or patterns in program data; facilitate enhancements and program improvements; and provide regular reports to leadership on program activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct or coordinate investigations into reported concerns, alleged violations, or issues identified through proactive youth protection program compliance reviews and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to support the resolution process.
  • Maintain current expertise in the field, including emerging regulatory obligations and trends, through meaningful and continuing engagement as well as professional development on accessible and inclusive practices and institutional risk and compliance management.
  • Assist with other institutional compliance programs as assigned.

  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature and performed in a standard office environment.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.
  • Repetitive use of standard office equipment such as a computer/laptop (including keyboard, monitor, and mouse), printer, copier, calculator, telephone (or virtual equivalent).
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Frequent communicating in a variety of methods and working collaboratively with multiple departments as well as with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to be stationary in front of a computer for an extended period.
  • Regularly required to move about the office and travel moderate distances around campus to attend meetings and events during peak youth programming season.

Work Schedule
Regular working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
