The US Oncology Network is looking for a Part-time Social Media Intern Intern to join our team! This position will support the Texas Oncology Corporate Marketing Team. The end date of this internship will tentatively be May 31, 2026 but can change due to the needs of the department.

What does the Social Media Intern do?

This remote internship offers hands-on experience in healthcare communications, social media management, and visual content creation in a meaningful, patient-centered environment.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and manage content across various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Visual Content Creation: Design engaging graphics, infographics, and promotional materials using Canva and other design tools
  • Content Development: Write compelling copy for social media posts, newsletters, and digital communications that align with our brand voice and healthcare compliance standards
  • Campaign Support: Assist in developing and executing digital marketing campaigns to promote services, events, and patient education initiatives
  • Analytics & Reporting: Monitor social media performance metrics and prepare regular reports on engagement and reach
  • Community Engagement: Respond to comments and messages while maintaining professional healthcare communication standards
  • Content Planning: Help develop content calendars and strategic posting schedules
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all communications maintain Texas Oncology's brand guidelines and professional standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Proficiency in Canva for graphic design and visual content creation
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of social media best practices and current trends
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional demeanor suitable for healthcare environment
  • Basic knowledge of HIPAA compliance preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or work experience in communications, marketing, or social media
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite)
  • Knowledge of healthcare communications or medical terminology
  • Photography and video editing skills
  • Analytics experience (social media insights)
