Cleveland-Cliffs Dearborn Works is currently seeking a Health and Safety Specialist at our Dearborn Works location. This role works to provide a safe environment for steel production by performing regular audits at the work site, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing standard safety protocols.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formation and enforcement of safety rules and regulations in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other related guidelines.

  • Involvement with incident investigations, correction and prevention of safety hazards and OSHA compliance.

  • Interaction with UAW health and safety representatives as well as outside contractors.

  • Coordination and instruction of safety training and seminars.

  • Participating in safety audits.

  • Follow company policy regarding all health, safety, and environmental procedures.

  • Inspect facilities to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills required.

  • Proficiency MS Office products such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent organizational and writing skills are a must.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Capacity to multitask.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Health Safety Engineering
