About the Role & Team

We're looking for a Sr Director, Enterprise Data & Insights to lead our data strategy, operations, and analytics function. This role will oversee a team of high-performing data engineers, analysts, and visualization experts who are passionate about turning raw data into business-critical insights. You'll play a key role in shaping our data ecosystem, ensuring our platforms are scalable, reliable, and governed, while empowering stakeholders across the company to make smarter, faster decisions.

This position is best suited for candidates in the Eastern time zone (excluding the New York City metropolitan area) to facilitate collaboration with our global team.


As a Sr Director, Enterprise Data & Insights, you will:

  • Provide hands-on technical & architectural leadership as a role model for delivering outstanding projects to our business stakeholders.
  • Make the data AI-ready to augment Amplitude's AI journey. Own and evolve our enterprise data strategy, spanning ingestion, storage, governance, and visualization.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance data infrastructures for structured and unstructured data with clear data models, taxonomies, and semantic layers.
  • Deliver Critical business reporting and analytics across various domains ie finance, GTM, Product, Customer Support, etc
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of data professionals across AI, Data Science, Data Engineering, analytics, and BI.
  • Expand the Data Governance program at Amplitude, keeping Data Security and quality at the forefront.
  • Drive adoption and best practices for Snowflake, Tableau, DBT, Fivetran, and other key tools in our stack.
  • Partner closely with business and technology leaders to ensure data is trusted, accessible, and actionable for strategic decision-making.
  • Build scalable processes and frameworks that improve data quality, compliance, and accessibility across the organization.



You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

  • Deep Technical & Architectural expertise in the Data ecosystem with a vision for the AI journey.
  • A passion for building high-performing, collaborative teams - you get energy from developing others.
  • A knack for translating complex data concepts into clear business value (we love when data tells a story).
  • Experience bringing order to messy data environments and scaling them with structure and governance.
  • A "toolbox" mindset - you're fluent in modern platforms like Snowflake, Tableau, Fivetran, and you're always exploring what's next.
  • Curiosity and pragmatism - you know when to experiment and when to standardize.


At a minimum, you need to have:

  • 15-20 years of hands-on experience in data strategy, engineering, or analytics, with at least 10+ years leading teams.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 20+ across diverse data functions.
  • Deep experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Tableau, DBT, Fivetran) and governance frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills; you can influence at the executive level while rolling up your sleeves when needed.
  • Demonstrated success in building scalable data ecosystems that drive measurable business outcomes.
