The Azure High Performance Computing & Artificial Intelligence (HPC & AI) compute platform team defines and delivers the hardware roadmap, software, and services that enable our users to run technical computing workloads in Azure - extreme scale AI training and inference including large language models, traditional HPC modelling and simulations, remote visualization, and immersive gaming experiences. We are responsible for providing Azure customers with supercomputer-class capabilities to accelerate their research, drive competitive differentiation, and finding answers to some of the most difficult questions about science and industry. We're seeking a Program Manager II to own the pre-dock phase of infrastructure cluster deployments. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of infrastructure deployments, and a proven track record working with complex and distributed engineering systems used in operating large-scale cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all the pre-dock lifecycle activities and serve as the primary point of contact for regular reporting to leadership.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesResponsible for ensuring system readiness for buildout when expensive GPU racks arrive at the datacenter.Collaborate with engineering partners across datacenter, networking and supply chain organizations to ensure all the logical artifacts and metadata-rack layouts, cabling maps, firmware matrices, and configuration templates - are created for deployments out of critical path.Coordinate with supply chain/logistics and infrastructure buildout teams to ensure readiness of materials and supporting infrastructure.Participate in cross-functional syncs to ensure alignment and resolve blockers in the pre-dock phase. Drive risk mitigation and close readiness gaps.Drive continuous process improvements and automation efforts in planning and pre-dock execution workflows.
