      | Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Philosophy, Politics & Economics (
        PPE) Program is a rapidly growing interdisciplinary program at the University of North Carolina. The 
        PPE Program focuses on the intersection of the three disciplines in its title, where concerns for efficiency and efficacy as well as commitments to rights, justice, and liberty, are applied to social and political institutions. The 
        PPE Program houses the international Philosophy, Politics & Economics Society, provides a regular influx of faculty on multi-year non-tenure track positions (which the program then works to place), offers an undergraduate 
        PPE Minor, and runs an active extra-curricular program. The 
        PPE Program is committed to integrating abstract work in philosophy, political science, and economics with an informed and practical understanding of social, economic, political, and moral problems. Further information about the

      | Position Summary | The Philosophy, Politics and Economics Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position is designed to support a talented 
        PPE scholar. Specific duties will include serving as primary researcher and repository manager for the 
        PPE Research Consortium, a project which has been awarded $3.2m grant to offer 
        PPE research grants and to build an accessible infrastructure supporting 
        PPE research and teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute, through their own research activity, to the thriving 
        PPE research community here at 
        UNC and to teach one 
        PPE course each academic year. The appointment will be for an initial year with the possibility of annual renewal for up to an additional two years, contingent upon satisfactory performance review, available funding, and approval by the Program Director. The position is open to candidates who have recently earned their Ph.D. in philosophy, political science, or economics, or another 
        PPE-related field of study. We are particularly interested in candidates with research focused on 
        PPE who have teaching experience. Experience and comfort working with databases and interest in helping to design and build a repository of 
        PPE related material, is especially desirable. A successful candidate must demonstrate an outstanding capacity to work well with others in teams. They will be joining an active, vigorous, and welcoming intellectual community. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the 
        PPE Program, helping to organize and run aspects of its active extracurricular programming. They should also be able and willing to teach courses that count toward the 
        PPE minor, including the 'Gateway' course that introduces students to the tools of
