The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Site Services Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Collegeville PA

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Annual Salary: $70,000 + 5% ICP Bonus

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or a science-related field preferred.

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience in customer service, purchasing, or account management.

  • Prior experience in managing associates is required.

  • Forklift certification is a plus.

  • Training in spill containment, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and Hazwoper is advantageous.

  • GMP and GLP training preferred.

  • CPR certification and OSHA Right-to-Know training are desirable.

  • Inside sales experience and cross-referencing skills are a plus.

  • Ability to manage Scientific Services as needed.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in ERP systems and information access tools.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; basic knowledge of Microsoft Access.

How you will thrive and create an impact

Avantor's Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

  • Lead and guide team efforts while executing tasks outlined in the Statement of Work (SOW) to meet customer requirements.

  • Coach and motivate team members to achieve job expectations, exceed goals, and foster individual, professional, and team growth through mentoring and support.

  • Manage open order status reports, customer metrics, departmental reports, and maintain SOPs and SOWs.

  • Provide training and development opportunities; serve as backup for associates to ensure continuity of operations.

  • Perform administrative functions including performance appraisals, succession planning, timecard reviews, and vacation scheduling.

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, SOWs, SPIs, and KPIs.

  • Act as a liaison between customers, VWR services, and VWR sales teams.

  • Ensure compliance with GxP standards and Good Documentation Practices.

  • Deliver value to customers through ongoing professional development and industry expertise.
