Job Overview:

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for further developing, implementing and maintaining a positive and engaging volunteer program to provide aid to the Children s Specialized Hospital community through the use of individual and community volunteers.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years Volunteer or Human Resource Management experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred:

  • Experience with volunteer database systems Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills

Essential Functions:

  • Manage Volunteer staff
  • Manage, recruit, train and manage volunteers throughout the organization and our community partnerships
  • Screen, interview, orient, place, and evaluate volunteers
  • Develop and foster relationships with colleges, universities and local high schools to raise community awareness and identify prospective volunteers
  • Benchmark and develop best practices for volunteers and implement at all sites
  • Identify and coordinate performance improvement opportunities for the volunteer department
  • Develop training and outreach materials to effectively recruit, orient, train and evaluate volunteers
  • Represent the organization on the local and national level as a member of NJ AHVRP,
  • Maintain, update and revise volunteer position descriptions across the organization in partnership with staff
  • Direct the execute an effective online application system for available volunteer positions
  • Efficiently manage the documentation process, schedule and data collection for volunteers,
  • Establish, maintain and leverage appropriate technology, Volgistics, tools to manage volunteer records, applications, reports, demand fulfillment, volunteer hours, demographics, etc,
  • Establish and review policy and procedures as it pertains to volunteers
  • Responsible for The Joint Commission compliance as it relates to volunteers
  • Responsible for volunteer stewardship and annual volunteer recognition week
  • Work with staff throughout organization to identify meaningful, relevant volunteer opportunities and supporting volunteer positions
  • Foster an environment to live our values and HRO practices
  • Provide support and assist with Children s Specialized Hospital Foundation events, donations and activities as needed
  • Distribute donations throughout the sites
  • Provide direct support to Director Family Centered Care
