In the role of System Protection & Studies EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
  • Conducting analyses to develop design options, performing modeling and calculations for protective relay systems.
  • Perform QA reviews of P&C design on substation design packages.
  • Prepare design sketches and redline drawings on substation design projects. Typical designs include one-line diagrams, protection and control schematic development, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, substation physical layouts, material lists, and conduit and cable sizing/routing.
  • Perform routine engineering and design tasks and participate in field reviews or construction observation.
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer.
  • Work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.

    Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power emphasis.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAPE, ASPEN, and ETAP.
  • 2+ years experience doing electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, settings and substation design is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture

The expected compensation range for this position is $69,000 - $85,000 and depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
