POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for safe and efficient preventative maintenance. The incumbent will lubricate stationary equipment and mobile equipment as needed per manufacturer's recommendation and/or schedules directly from the Maintenance Manager. This position will maintain accurate records of equipment use and schedule oil and filter changes in a timely manner. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS: Maintenance
- Follow the provided preventative lubing checklist and inspecting of equipment.
- Perform lubrication and servicing of plant equipment and maintain records indicating such. Lubrication and servicing of mobile equipment on an as needed basis.
- Maintain inventory levels on oils, greases, fuels, and filters. Maintain clean and hazard free work area.
- Ensure compliance with all governing environmental regulatory statutes regarding storage and handling of lubricants. Oversee spill and leak prevention efforts at the mine.
- Perform oil sampling of critical quarry and plant equipment.
- Complete necessary paperwork to maintain inventory or procurement of lubricants, filters, spare parts and equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance on plant and Quarry equipment as needed. Install and maintain all grease lines and fittings. Make repairs as needed.
- Recommend changes in servicing intervals when seals are leaking or excessive wear is apparent, along with initiating a work order to make the necessary repairs.
- Operate maintenance and mobile equipment as necessary to perform servicing.
- Perform all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner, strictly adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations.
- Clean up any spills or leaks of oil, grease or fuels.
Reporting
- Report any potential operational or safety problems to supervision.
- Complete workplace exams and equipment pre-shift inspections noting any safety or equipment defects.
- Complete Safe Quality Food inspection reports as necessary.
Safety
- Attend scheduled safety meetings.
- Enforce all applicable safety policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Promote safety among co-workers.
- Participate in Behavior Based Safety program.
Backup
- To back up any qualified position as assigned by supervisor.
- To be backed up by any qualified team member as assigned by supervisor.
Safe Quality Food (SQF)
- Ensure a SQF workplace and follow regulatory compliance with Federal FDA - Food Modernization Safety Act (CFR Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, Part 507).
- Support Environmental Health and Safety, as well as SQF initiatives and awareness programs.
- Be a leader and promoter of employee safety and SQF culture.
- Following completion of SQF training, demonstrate understanding of expected safety, SQF performance and Food Safety Culture.
- Complete periodic SQF training(s).
- Each site location will ensure training is conducted for new employees and continued for existing employees.
- Employees will actively participate in audits for regulatory, safety, SQF and environmental compliance at the site.
Perform other duties as assigned. ATTRIBUTES:

- Be able to operate all mobile equipment for servicing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Must be physically able to perform work assigned.
- Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.
- Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
- Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a mining environment.
- The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles.
- The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
PREFFERED EDUCATION:
- Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Two (2) plus years of equivalent industrial experience in fast paced manufacturing environment.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
