84C Catcher (CL1)

Under direct supervision, is responsible for the preparation and movement of sawn lumber from the saw shed to the material staging area within the time frame determined by the supervisor.

Ensure the proper type and grade of lumber has been used.

Verify accuracy of length, angles, and quality of material from the saw.

Use a framing or speed square to check the cut angles for accuracy.

Stack truss members with proper orientation.

Mark cut members with correct ID.

Secure cut material for movement to material pad.

Assist the sawyers, as needed.

Able to read and write in their primary language.

Able to stand for long periods of time.

Able to lift 50 pounds.

Able to read or able to learn to read a shop drawing.
