About the Role

MWH Constructors is currently seeking a Corporate EHS Business Operations Manager that will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all environmental, health, and safety programs and initiatives. This role ensures company-wide compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations and corporate policies. The manager is responsible for developing EHS operational strategies, managing budgets, analyzing performance metrics, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities




  • Strategic leadership: Develop and implement EHS policies, programs, and procedures that align with the company's overall business objectives and drive EHS excellence across all operations.





  • Operational management: Oversee the daily operations of the EHS department, including budget management, resource allocation, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.





  • Compliance and risk management: Ensure all corporate operations are in full compliance with EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate hazards and risks.





  • Training and development: Design, develop, and deliver EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and site managers. Foster a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and mentorship.





  • Reporting and analysis: Compile, analyze, and report on EHS performance data and trends. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and propose strategic action plans to senior leadership.





  • Program oversight: Manage specialized EHS programs such as hazardous waste management, emergency response planning, air permitting, and industrial hygiene.




Qualifications




  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred.





  • Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within a corporate or multi-site environment.





  • Certification: Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar are highly desirable.





  • Expert knowledge: In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices (OSHA, EPA, ANSI, etc.).





  • Business acumen: Proven ability to manage a budget, analyze metrics, and develop operational strategies that align with business goals.





  • Leadership skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.





  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities.





  • Travel: Ability to travel as needed to support various business locations.




Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000
