Job Description

We're seeking a motivated individual for an entry-level professional role that supports and coordinates undergraduate medical education programs. Working under the general guidance of the Department Manager and/or Clerkship Director, the Clerkship Coordinator manages the daily operations of core and elective clinical experiences for medical students.

This position serves as the key point of contact between students, the Clerkship Director, off-site faculty (including hospital and office-based partners), and medical school staff. Building and maintaining strong relationships with faculty, students, and administrators is central to this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health sciences, business, public administration, or education)

  • 2-5 years of experience in a high-level administrative role, preferably in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field

  • Experience working with students in an academic or medical school setting

  • Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards

  • Knowledge of UMKC School of Medicine policies and procedures
